Synopsis
Created by Indigenous director Piratá Waurá with producers Studio Kwo XR, Kamukuwaká takes us deep into the Amazon to the struggle of the Wauja people. Stewards of Brazil's first demarcated indigenous territory, they defend their homeland against farmers, loggers, wildfires and climate change. Drawing on ancient myths and their hyperconnected youth, the Wauja stand as a beacon of resilience.
Through intimate 360° filming and 3D scanned environments, Piratá brings his people's wisdom in their Arawak language to global audiences, so we may reconnect to Nature as we face an uncertain future.
