Director | Carolina Markowicz
Carolina Markowicz is a screenwriter and director from São Paulo, born in 1982.
She was one of the 20 emerging filmmakers invited to TIFF- Toronto International Film Festival - Talent Lab '15, with mentors Wim Wenders and Jim Stark. Was also a Berlinale Talent in 2018.
Her most recent short, 〈Long Distance Relationship〉, worldly premiered at TIFF '17, and in USA at SXSW 2018. The screenplay for her 1st feature film “When My Life Was My Life” won the script doctoring award from SPCINE, was at AUSTRALAB, where it had the mentorship of Lucrecia Martel, won IBERMEDIA development fund and was selected to CINEMART-IFFR 2018.
Her latest short 〈The Orphan〉 premiered at Director’s Fortnight – Cannes 2018, and won the Queer Palm.
