影片取材自多年前，一位男子為了將死去母親器官捐贈給醫院，獨自一個人將屍體用輪椅推到醫院去的真實社會新聞事件。影片中一個母親為了讓即將失明的畫家女兒，能夠擁有一雙眼睛繼續畫畫，決定偷走意外身亡的房東屍體，用輪椅送到醫院給自己的女兒做為器官移植，並在這過程中逐漸意識到自己的荒謬跟瘋狂。這一切……究竟誰是瘋狂？誰是正常？本片藉由影像將事件重新轉化，透過女主角精湛的演技，帶來一段令人動容而難以言喻的哀傷故事。

The original concept of "Against the darkness" came from real social news that happened many years ago. ‘A man took his dead mother to the hospital for organ donation by wheelchair. We have transformed this event into our story. A mother tried everything to cure her daughter’s eyes for keeping her continued learning of painting. When she found her landlord died by heart disease, she tried to use his cornea without any legal organ donation permission. Finally, she found herself with the madness of the absurd. All of sudden, who is crazy or who is normal?
