2009墨爾本影展

中國視她為煽動「新疆省」動亂的恐怖份子，曾經因「向外國人提供機密」，被中國當局判刑入獄五年，並於2005年獲釋後流亡美國，但四度獲諾貝爾和平獎提名的她，卻始終堅持為人權及東突爾吉斯坦維族的自治運動奮鬥到底。本片從多重角度描繪東突民主領袖熱比婭（Rebiya Kadeer）身為一位女性、十一個孩子的母親以及民主人權鬥士的心路歷程，2009年於墨爾本影展播映時，引發中國強烈抗議，下令所有香港與中國參展影片撤片（包括《渺渺》），影展網站與售票系統也遭到駭客攻擊癱瘓。

This movie is a love story – of a woman, a man, a family, a people and a homeland. It is the story of Rebiya Kadeer, China’s nightmare – the woman it accuses of inciting terrorism. It is also the story of the other Tibet, the Muslim Tibet ─ the country its people call East Turkestan, but which the Chinese call Xinjiang Province ─ the other stain on China’s moral character.
